History
For more than a quarter of a century, Car Lock Systems has been based in the North Brabant town of Altena. A young stockman at a Peugeot dealer noticed in the early 1990s that customers often had to wait weeks for their mechanical car keys. His belief was that this could be done faster.
1996: Establishment of Car Lock Systems
Thus began experimenting with cutting keys by code. The machine purchased for this purpose was actually unsuitable, but experimentation continued until he managed to help customers get a new car key quickly.
Soon, several Peugeot dealers became customers and then many Citroën and Renault dealers followed. By 1996, as many as 850 dealers were already using the services and today’s Car Lock Systems was founded. The establishment fulfilled a need in the market, laying the foundation for a company that would go on to solve millions more key problems.
